Paint and Body
 
       
I have to say the Rage Gold Filler is the nicest body filler I have ever used. With that being said........ The dust and mess along with all of the sweat really sucks. Here you can see I needed to lower the light switch, I did so and patched the hole in the aluminum dash before covering. FFR light switch location Cobra body Preperation for paint ffr mold parting lines body work front
       
I then found the dead center of all the panels that would be striped, I then made a small drill mark at the beginning and end of each surface so they could be returned to this exact location for masking  with out hinges in place. The marks are place in very inconspicuous places, such as the edge of the hood. I also drilled 1/8th inch holes though the doors and hinges to make realignment easy (major time saver!).  ffr mold parting lines body work ffr mold parting lines body work marking body for stripes before disassembly Trunk
       
You can see through these pictures evidence of the unevenness in the body, nothing that cannot be overcome. When researching prior to this project I heard a lot of whining about how terrible these bodies are. The second two pictures show what it took to align the hood properly with the body. The MKIII Hinge kit works great the hood goes up and down with ease. This did require some patients, trial and error once again prevailed. marking body for stripes before disassembly

The first picture shows the laying out of the defroster cut outs. Here in the second and third, you can see the doors receiving needed sanding in prep of the filler primer. High build PPG shop line was use. Cobra door before skuffing FFR Drivers door skuffed and ready for paint process
