Gear identification
There should be a label or stamp on the diff cover bolts or axle tube. You can just jack up one wheel and count the turns of the driveshaft while you rotate the tire twice. This will give you the ratio. I find a chalk mark on each helps with counting. I think you need to know the t-case make and year and then you might be able to go to the maker's site and get the ratios. You also should be able to order the build sheet from GM for the truck. That would give you everything. You could try at GM online or call their 1-800 number. It doesn't hurt to also call the number and register as the new owner. They will then send you any recall notices etc...
