94 Chevy S10 blazerWould this make a good used car

Some issues with a 94 S Series blazer.

s10 4x4 help please
I need help. I can’t seem to get the front wheels to engage in my 92 s-10. Here are some of the things i’ve checked. Vacum: checked the hoses, in fact I have...

EGR valve, tends to build up carbon and get stuck open. GM recall changed the programming to allow it to remain open a bit longer and cure pbuttages with a stiff brush (or pull the intake and REALLY clean it out) then clean and reinstall the EGR using a screened gasket to keep any carbon out of it. (gasket is about 13.00 and WELL worth it.)

Front wheel hub bearings- they wear out rather fast (60-70 K from others, mine went 100K before it was bad enough to need new.

which 34 ton has smoothest ride
tks Pete, Hmm... Never heard of an air ride seat. Is that like a cushion or the whole seat? maybe...

Oil lines to remote mounted oil filter-cooler - Known to seep and leak. If they are seeping REPLACE them. They have blown off and puked the oil on some vehicles. GM has newer ones out that seem to help the problem OR go to a GOOD shop and have new lines made up either using the original ends OR thread the adapter plates and use hydraulic fittings.

Transmission - 4 speed 4l60E has a known issue with the bores in the bores OR replace the valve body with new. (hone and sleeve is MUCH cheaper and will probably last longer as well)

Electronic 4X4 switch has been known to cause problems due to faulty connections in it.

Transmission mounts wear-break if abused.

Ball joints (upper especially) wear poorly (easy test , push front end down hard and listen for a loud POP on rebound, POP denotes worn ball joint)

kraker13 the engine will bolt the transmission just do some checking. you will probably have to get a flexplate-flywheel for the 5.8(351W). Is it an auto tranny or is it a manual?? If...

Idler arm wears rapidly causing the front wheels to wander and toe in to alter. Not hard to repair. New arm is about 30 bucks. I think one off a heavier truck might fit but haven't looked since I replaced mine.

Drivers or pbuttengers seat reclining mechanism gets loose-breaks seat frame. Not hard to repair and is easily reinforced to make it MUCH stronger than the original. Just remove the seat and remove the hog rings, remove the upholstery and foam, clean up the inside and outside of the mounting hole. Weld in a plate on both sides the length of the notch in the frame. Drill the hole in the plates and either tap threads in OR weld a nut on the inside plate. Rebuttemble and enjoy. (did this on our 94 about three weeks ago. Test: Place seat in full upright position and try to rock the seat back front-rear. ANY motion means the bolt is either loose or the hole is worn. (this applies to a bunch of GM vehicles though.)

ABS front sensors : wiring failures due to MANY connectors inline. Sometimes can be cured by simply removing connector and cleaning then putting some dielectric grease in the connector to stop moisture. If a sensor fails you have to remove the front hub and replace the sensor-backing plate buttembly. 102.00 from GM.

To be fair our 94 has 165,000 on it and is not a pampered vehicle. 94 S blazers are also the last year of the older body style (93 for S pick-ups) They are not real hard to work on and other than the rust and crud from the salt in NY ours has been a real reliable vehicle.

1988 S10 fuel problem
If it was the fuse it would not have any voltage. If you have less then a nominal 12 volts then there is a bad connection somewhere. It's possible that your...
